Astigmatism – first of all let us start by saying that this is a very common condition. It is not a disease and it does not mean your eyes are bad. It is a condition of the eye where the front surface of the eye, the cornea has an irregular curvature. This affects the ability to focus which results in blurry vision. One could say that instead of a football the cornea’s shape is like of a rugby ball.  Standard spherical lenses will not correct the vision issues associated with astigmatism.
